The Wild Center was named “Best Science Museum” in the USA TODAY Readers’ Choice Awards for 2024. With a 54,00-square feet indoor exhibit hall and over 115 acres of trails and outdoor exhibits, the Wild Center is a perfect place for moosers to learn about the natural history of the region. The museum will be closed to the public during our visit and include an animal encounter.

Tentative Field Trip Options

Visit the top of the iconic Whiteface Mountain. At the summit you can view an unforgettable 360-degree panoramic of the Adirondack Mountains, neighboring Vermont and Canada. The five mile Veterans’ Memorial Highway takes you over 2,300 feet in just five miles. Weather Permitting.

Chesterfield Fish and Game Club Clay Shoot

The Chesterfield Fish and Game Club will host a 25-clay trap shoot for a limited number of participants. Sign up with be first-come first-serve and prior firearm experience is preferred.

The West Branch Ausable River is one of the premier fly fishing destinations east of the Mississippi. The river is a must-visit location for any angler looking for an Adirondack fly fishing experience.
